garrydolley and Chris,
this best way to get involved in to jump into #rubinius on freednode and talk to the developers.

Grab a copy of the git repository and you're pretty much set.

Chris,

I second that. I'd like to get involved but don't know where to start. I've written one compiler before, so I know the basics.

I was there watching the Ruby VM Smackdown take place, and I know who I thought took the title... great job! I, like pretty everyone who was there, is looking forward to seeing the Rubinius project continue to kick ass... ahem, I mean continue to make progress.

Yep, for sure, RubyConf was really amazing. It was like a feast for my brain. I enjoyed your presentation very much, kudos. At first I did not understand why one would write a Ruby compiler and VM in primarily Ruby, b/c of the speed cost (and I know the Rubinius team is working on overcoming that), but after your presentation it was clear. I like how those who like writing Ruby code can contribute directly, by writing more Ruby! Keep on rockin'...
